SlimLipo: The New Standard In Liposuction

Dr. Steven Bloch has built a career on innovation and state of the art technology. He was a pioneer in the late 70’s advocating immediate breast reconstruction after mastectomy. What is SlimLipo?

The field of liposuction as we know it is about to change dramatically. Again, Dr. Bloch is in the forefront. He is now introducing SlimLipo Chicago procedure to the Midwest. SlimLipo or Selective Laser Induced Melting uses an ideal wavelength for liquefying and melting fat. This laser allows one to sculpt and melt fat faster and treat larger anatomical areas efficiently. The system blends two unique wavelengths in a superior tip design that ideally controls thermal effects.

SlimLipo’s unique wavelengths 920 nm preferentially melts fat and 975 nm preferentially heats dermal tissue to allow for skin tightening. This opens up a whole new dimension since traditional liposuction does not tighten skin and can, in fact, aggravate the elasticity. SlimLipo may change our criteria as to who is an acceptable candidate for liposuction. Previously the ideal candidate was young with good skin tone, now we can possibly treat the older patient with poor skin tone and achieve acceptable results.

According to Dr. Bloch, “This procedure may also be of benefit for the aging thin patient who is in good shape, exercises regularly, eats the right foods, avoids the sun or uses reasonable protection and despite doing everything right has poor skin tone and excessive laxity to treat. Very often the laxity is not severe enough to warrant surgery.
